Investors purchased $5.8 billion in stabilised logistics assets in South Korea during 2021 — a level which was more than four times the 2015 to 2019 average, according to data from MSCI-RCA. That surge in sales of completed assets marks a coming of age for the Korean warehouse asset and provides institutional investors with confidence in the exit opportunities for development strategies in the country.
That growing market, combined with one of the highest e-commerce penetration rates in the world, makes South Korea’s logistics sector one of the top targets for institutional capital as investors compete for top tier warehouses and distribution centre opportunities.
In a one-hour session to be held on Tuesday 24 May 2022, Mingtiandi has invited senior representatives of key players in the Korean warehouse market, including ESR Kendall Square REIT, Hines, LaSalle Investment Management and global property consultant JLL for a discussion of strategies for keeping up with end-user demand and the outlook for the market in 2022 and beyond.
