A list of the best websites about China was published this week by a media research agency belonging to the Financial Times and Mingtiandi was recognised as one of only seven new entries on the annual list. The popular information provider was the only real estate media outlet recognised in the survey.
The Danwei Model Workers 2014 list was published on October 28th, and Mingtiandi was selected for its coverage of China’s real estate industry “including the domestic market, government policy, finance, and outward bound investment.”
Mingtiandi was in good company on the list where it stood shoulder to shoulder with larger sites published by such organisations as The Economist, Foreign Policy, the Asia Society, and the University of Hong Kong. This year’s top prize winner and “Model Worker of the Year” was language research website Phonemica.
Among the authors of other websites, podcasts, and recognised on this year’s Model Worker list were economist Michael Pettis, historian Paul French, the Economist’s Gady Epstein, and the New York Times’ Jonah Kessel.
This latest list marks the ninth time that media research agency Danwei has published its Model Workers list since 2005. Danwei is managed by China media analyst and commentator Jeremy Goldkorn.
Mingtiandi welcomes the recognition from Danwei as one of the top websites about China, and is proud to be the only online media outlet dedicated to real estate and outbound investment to qualify for this honor.
Mingtiandi was originally founded in 2008 by Michael Cole as a personal blog, and has since grown into a daily updated resource relied upon by more than 20,000 real estate professionals each month in hundreds of cities around the globe.
